Vivaldi Browser

I have been tasked to spread the word of a new internet browser called Vivaldi and to be honest I had never heard of it  until I received an email telling me that they are going to have a major release of an updated version.
I love everything tech and to my excitement I got super excited when I heard of a new browser I am yet to use.
The curious cat that is me went on the interwebs to do some research (and of course some info from the email I received) and I found out that this very broswer is being run by the same guy that founded Opera, mind blown! I have been using Opera Mini and their many other Opera browsers for over a decade now, I still use Opera till today (and I've been through a lot of browsers trust me) and upen finding out that the CEO of Vivaldi is the same guy that started Opera I just had to get my hands on it ASAP!

Now before we even get into all of that just know that I'm a browser addict I use three different browsers at the same time Chrome, Opera and Microsoft Edge. I know most of you will be like 'why does he need three browsers at the same time when one can do all functions of three?' well let me break it down for ya.
Chrome is for work(blogging)
Opera is for entertainment
Edge is for general use (Youtube, social media)
Now I could delve deeper into each detailed purpose but I would be revealing too many secrets but point of the matter they all serve a unique purpose. So my oh my a new browser to try out (wink wink) no seriously I'm that excited for this browser.

"Vivaldi, the most customizable browser for power users, debuts features that make browsing more personal than ever before. Version 1.10, released today, lets users decide how they want their Start Pages to look, feel and perform. Another addition is the ability to dock Developer Tools."

Judging from the above quoted text you can tell they mean business but I'm not one for all talk so I got my hands dirty and downloaded the browser to test out and get a feel for how it works. So far from my usage all I can say it is a unique browser, a fresh take on browsing the internet now I could have used the tutorial that comes with it while setting up but then where is the fun in that? It's thrilling to discover how something works on your own and it especially makes it your 'own' knowing how it works by your own means.

Looks awesome right? Almost like you could lick it (just kidding), when last have you ever seen a browser look so elegant and so clean! Well it is fully customizable, yes you can design it to your liking just go to town with. It's not all about looks too it is a pretty darn useful browser one small feature that I found really interesting (well to me) is in the address bar it tells you how much the data is of the page that is loading I persoanlly think that will be a very useful piece of information to a whole lot people. With the new update on top of the amazing things that it already does these are some of the features that have been added on:

New features and improvements include:

  • Sorting of Downloads in the Side Panel by name, size, date added and date finished, as well as manually.
  • Toggle image visibility from the View menu or via configurable keyboard shortcut.
  • Quick Commands improvements for users that like to control everything in their browser from their keyboard. The Quick Commands menu lets users navigate to tabs, find search terms, filter lists of available commands and much more.
  • Address Bar drop down list can now exclude bookmarks and typed history.
  • Controlling new tabs via third-party extensions with additional functionality, such as productivity tools or reminders.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and download this super cool browser to try out for yourself but before you do that you can tell me what you think in the comments or better yet share this with everyone you know so they can also enjoy the Vivaldi browser. Please not that Vivaldi is only available for PC operating systems, mobile phones and tablets is not available at the moment.

Mr Lunga

“Start Page is a gateway to web. Why should people be restricted to plain startup pages with limited functionality and boring design?”
“We thought it was about time to give people a browser that takes Start Pages seriously.”
